Raskršće - Teen Challenge program

Rehabilitation in centers is conducted based on internationally recognized Teen Challenge program and curricululum which includes folowing activities: Isolation period psychological support and counseling, education and preventive program, counseling for families and support groups.

Holistic approach and work recognises addiction, not just as a problem of an individual, but as a problem of whole family because of that during an addict’s rehabilitation, Raskršće works closely with and advises an addict’s family and friends with the purpose of restoring close contact and relationship between family and an addict as a highly relevant factor of his re-integration and re-socialization.

Exploring different programs, Raskršće realized thet attendants of Teen Challenge program, compared to other programs, had much clearer understanding of absured of further drug abuse, real and stabile attitude towards life, consciencesness and aspiration to establish healthy goals through family and employment and positive social activities.

Raskršće is supporter of voluntary decision to rehabilitation. Our goal, as well as our motive of helping is humanity, compasion and love without manipulation. Therefore, every individual entering our therapeutical community does that voluntary and has a right to leave it whenever he wants. Attendants are advised to stay from 15 to 18 months nad in certain circumstances longer staqy is allowed.

Raskršće program is made of study plan Teen Challenge curriculum and structural Schedule. Within curriculum an addict goes trough 14 areas which cover 3 aspects: nature of problem of addiction, self analysis and discovering the cause of a problem, spiritual aspect and posibilities of overcoming a problem.

In the repor of University of Tennessee from 1994. about people who graduated Teen Challenge program it is concluded that:
- 60% of people continued on their education
- 70% stated that their curret status is employed
- 55% was employed for over a year
- 87% needed no extra treatment concerning addiction
- 65% is included in social activities
- 90% stated that they are in excellent
